Singapore Cuisine as Expressed by Chef Eric Neo

Chef Eric Neo, president of the Singapore Chefs Association (SCA), will be At-Sunrice to demonstrate a couple of Singapore cuisine dishes to more than 100 students. One of these dishes is Chicken Rice – an all-year-round favourite amongst foodies.

Like many of the renowned chefs, Eric’s love affair with cooking began at a tender age. He started his career at the age of 16 and made executive chef in 2008. In 2019, he took the helm at the Singapore Chefs Association. His “day job” is Executive Chef of InterContinental Singapore.

Eric is also no stranger to culinary contests abroad. He participated in competitions in Australia, Dubai and Thailand. In 2013, the Singapore National Team clinched the gold medal at the Dubai World Hospitality Championship. Chef Eric Neo was the team manager.

His culinary adventure has also taken him from our little red dot to South Africa (Johannesburg, Cape Town, and Durban) where he represented Singapore in the Tiger Brands World Cooks Tour for Hunger.

When he is not hard at work advancing culinary arts in the industry, he is delighting foodies and homecooks as guest chef or judge on popular television food programmes such as Koji Cooks, Wok Stars and Love On A Plate.

With more than 23 years of experience, students At-Sunrice are in for a treat as he shares his tips and tricks to bring out the signature flavours of the Singapore Chicken Rice.
