Stay Safe

According to the US Centres for Disease Control and Prevention, up to 80% of all infections are transmitted by our hands. Statistics from an article by the Daily Mail Company also show that 62% of men and 40% of women do not wash their hands after using the bathroom. Hand hygiene is the only way to avoid spreading infections and to protect yourself and others.

Remember that your home is a private restaurant for your loved ones, which means that practicing good hygiene is of upmost importance. Learn to adopt good hygiene practices as everyday habits. Let us make everywhere and everyone safer! Our academy is currently offering Kitchen Safety & Hygiene, a 4-hour online programme for home chefs just like yourself. Affordably priced at just S$20 nett inclusive, why not take this time to sign up with your family and friends? You can find our more information and register here at this link.

Wellbeing

Our wellbeing could well be jeopardised in this season of spending too much time at home and with the fears of the looming coronavirus, COVID-19. Therefore, it is important to take care of our physical health by continuing to exercise and to eat well.

Since all gyms are closed, here is a list of 5 free home workout apps and videos you can try out:

  1. Blogilates (by Cassey Ho)
  2. HIIT Workouts (by CNET’s Amanda Capritto)
  3. Core Power Yoga
  4. Nike Run Club
  5. Dance Body

In addition, we need to remember to eat well in this time because a healthy gut is crucial in mounting a positive response towards COVID-19. According to multiple professors studying about COVID-19, adopting a Mediterranean diet will help to build up defences from the inside out and further strengthen the immune system.

For instance, natural yoghurt, artisan cheeses, bacteria, and yeast-rich drinks such as fermented milk or fermented tea, fermented vegetable-based foods, such as Korean kimchi (and German sauerkraut) are all great options to try out.
