There comes a time in everyone’s life where they’ll pop themselves the golden question

What is the golden question, you might ask?

“Is he the one?”, “Is she the one?”, “Am I the one?”

If Lady Luck has visited you, that’s great. But for the rest of us, the sudden and random gushes of uncertainty, anxiety and overthinking can make us question the meaning of living. But life is so much more than just relationships. It’s about you – your growth, your pursuit of passion

“Is this the right profession for me?”, “Is this the right job for me?”, “Am I the right one for this role?”

If you knew exactly that you were going to be a singer after watching Ariana Grande’s first music video, or that you wanted to be a stand-up comedian after watching Kevin Hart live, that’s great. I admire your instinct to identify with what you love. For the few of us who didn’t have the courage to pursue unpopular/non-mainstream careers, and eventually settled for a 9-5 job in the office crunching numbers: Ask yourself – is that what you really want to do for the rest of your life?

A lot of successful people whom we’ve come to know today: Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, even Gordon Ramsay or Chef Martin Yan, they took a leap of faith. They didn’t know what their future entails. But they would rather risk it all doing the one thing that they love, rather than slog through a lifetime of drag in a career or job that they don’t enjoy. Take Bill Gates’ story for instance: He enrolled at Harvard University in 1973, initially thinking of a career in law. But his freshman year saw him spending more time in the computer lab than in class. Much to his parents’ dismay, within two years he dropped out of college to pursue his business, Microsoft. Now, he is one of the most successful and richest man in the world.

Now for the food-lovers in you aspiring to be a chef – stop a moment. Not everyone is made to be a chef. The hours are long. The pay is questionable. The work can be thankless.

BUT. Food is the centre of everything. After music, food is considered a ‘language’ understood and enjoyed by everyone in this world. We commune over food, mourn through food. We love to hate on certain dishes, and we hate to miss best-selling dishes. Food is the circle of life.

So for those of you who want to be the one that gives joy through food, we’ve got a checklist for you. If you ticked off (almost) everything, come for our Open House. You’ll get to see one of your best options of pursuing your culinary training ahead.
